All of my quilt patterns are designed with clean geometry, clear diagrams, and step‑by‑step instructions that make the sewing process smooth and enjoyable. Whether pieced or foundation paper pieced, each pattern includes detailed cutting charts, accurate templates, and my signature labelling system to keep every section organized. These designs are approachable for experienced beginners and rewarding for seasoned quilters, with results that look crisp, modern, and beautifully precise.

About Pat Daniels

Quilt Designer, Pattern Writer and Teacher, Symphony Musician, Alexander Technique Teacher and Quilting Fanatic, which, of course, includes Stash Building

Pat Daniels is a quilt designer, pattern writer, and teacher whose creative path has taken some wonderfully unexpected turns. After earning a master’s degree from The Juilliard School and enjoying a long career as a professional clarinetist, Pat discovered quilting in 1993 while creating hand‑marbled fabric for quilters. One art quilt in a local shop was all it took — she was hooked.

Her background in music, the Alexander Technique, and Qi Gong has shaped a teaching style that supports many different ways of learning. Since 1998, Pat has taught quilting across Canada, online through the Academy of Quilting, Tour de Fabric, and Global Quilt Connection, and in person as Education Coordinator for the Winnipeg Modern Quilt Guild.

Pat’s quilts and designs have appeared in Ricky Tims’ “Kool Kaleidoscopes” and “Gridified Art Quilts,” Sharon Pederson’s “Rose of Sharon” DVD and Block Book, and in Quilters Newsletter and Quiltmaker magazines. Her quilt With Love and Peace won the Big Love Quilt Challenge on The Quilt Show, leading to a featured four‑page interview in 2015. She has also served as a beta tester for Electric Quilt 7 and 8.

Pat publishes her patterns and books — including Crystal Quilts: FPP the Easy Way and Marker Mania — through Compositions in Cloth. Although she no longer marbles fabric, she continues to explore colour and surface design with dyes, paint sticks, markers, and anything else that sparks curiosity. Above all, she remains a passionate quilting educator who loves helping makers build skills, confidence, and joy in their craft.
